“Our teams share a vision of combining exceptional client service with unique benefit expertise for self-funded health plan strategies,” said Mike Hill, founder of Total Control Health Plans. “As partners together, we’ll be able to further advance our mission of helping organizations rethink their healthcare with greater transparency and lower costs.”

As vice president of employee benefits, Val McCoy brings 20+ years of experience in the industry to TCHP, including specialized experience and insight obtained during her years working for a Third-Party Administrator (TPA). Her TPA experience has given her a detailed and valuable understanding of the intricacies involved in claims management, plan administration, and cost-containment strategies.

Beth Geiger will serve as a benefits account manager. A 17-year veteran in employee benefits, Geiger is experienced in participant education and empowers people to make informed decisions in their healthcare journey.

Deb Bloem will serve as compliance and documentation manager, with over 20 years of experience in benefit compliance, as well as extensive experience in drafting and reviewing plan documentation. Bloem is a trusted authority in benefits compliance and benefit program guidance, assisting plan sponsors to minimize risk and liability.

“At a time when having quality benefit consultation services is essential, the combination of Merit and TCHP will provide our clients with access to additional resources, streamlined processes, and more solutions,” said McCoy. “With over 100 years of combined experience, we will leverage our knowledge, expertise, technologies, and dedicated team members to forge an exemplary benefits agency that exceeds our clients’ expectations at every opportunity.”
